I am not a medical professional. I purchased this unit for home use because I was after a calibrated automatic blood pressure monitor that would provide more consistent readings than my old unit.
The 3400 ProBP is compact, easy to use, provides consistent results and is adequate for my needs. There are a range of cuff sizes available and the battery can be replaced. My only complaint is that the cuff can be a bit tricky to fit with one hand when taking your own blood pressure.
The purchase price from AMA Medical products was the best I found but the experience with delivery was very poor. Why won't you deliver to a PO Box? I can't afford to sit around all day waiting for a courier who may or may not arrive on the day. I had two missed delivery attempts and an incomplete notification resulting in me not knowing where the package was and having to waste my time trying to track it down. Again, why won't you deliver to a post office? If you would then none of this would have happened.
I had an Omron which spat the ***** every time it hit an ectopic. The Welch Allyn is a big improvement, faster, no Err readings and easy to change cuff size. My only whinge is that I would have liked a bar cuff. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed. I will pay for itself in time saved never mind the improvement in your BP.
Excellent hand-held automatic blood pressure machine that works quickly and efficiently with reliability and a breaze to use. Probably more suited to ward rounds than house calls, but I use it for the latter and like the peace of mind of not needing to second guess my reading. And homes are not always the most conducive environment for manual BP measurements. I keep a manual machine in the boot as back-up but don’t expect will return to it much now. An automatic thick-set but nonetheless hand-held device that dispenses with the need for manual surety.
