The Chemdye KH2X15-3.5Y/P Helix Test Kit is a reusable Process Challenge Device designed to monitor steam sterilization cycles and verify the effective penetration of steam into hollow instruments and loads.

Designed for cycles operating at 134°C for 3.5 minutes, the system uses Type 2 chemical indicator strips that change from yellow to dark brown or black when the required sterilization conditions have been achieved.

The kit is suitable for dental and healthcare environments and supports informed load-release decisions following steam sterilization.

How the Indicator Works

Each indicator strip contains four printed indicator bars.

When all four bars change completely to the final dark brown or black colour, the sterilization conditions have been achieved and the load may be released in accordance with your facility’s procedures.

If one or more bars remain yellow or do not fully reach the final colour, this may indicate insufficient steam penetration. The load should not be considered sterile or released.
