I had an Omron which spat the ***** every time it hit an ectopic. The Welch Allyn is a big improvement, faster, no Err readings and easy to change cuff size. My only whinge is that I would have liked a bar cuff. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed. I will pay for itself in time saved never mind the improvement in your BP.
Excellent hand-held automatic blood pressure machine that works quickly and efficiently with reliability and a breaze to use. Probably more suited to ward rounds than house calls, but I use it for the latter and like the peace of mind of not needing to second guess my reading. And homes are not always the most conducive environment for manual BP measurements. I keep a manual machine in the boot as back-up but don’t expect will return to it much now. An automatic thick-set but nonetheless hand-held device that dispenses with the need for manual surety.
The service from AMA medical products was excellent and the price was good too. The machine is very good, it senses the bp as it is inflating so it is very fast and more comfortable for the patient. If it can't sense it when inflating it will then deflate gradually and attempt to detect, it is able to fine tune and reinflate slightly during deflation. Very clever algorithms. No problem with irregular pulse unlike older machines.
